The social institutions organized and run by the princely house were numerous. Hospitals, orphanages and countless charities have received, and still receive, support.
After World War I, Prince Albert I founded the princely emergency kitchen to care for the needy. Today, under his grandson Albert II, up to 250 needy people receive a free hot meal every day.
